A Short Day

I talked to and spent time with a lot of people today. Basically all the important people in my life with a few exceptions. Old friends, new friends, best friends. I had a lot of fun in a short amount of time.  It was very refreshing.

Oh and there’s nothin’ like some good old fashioned Starcraft to get my nerd blood pumping. There’s also no better way for me to hold myself over until Starcraft 2 finally comes out after a goddamn decade. Oh, and Blizzard? How long are you going to make us wait before you decide to make World of StarCraft? Wow. I was serious about the nerd thing.

Also I think something strange may have happened today, but maybe not. I’ll elaborate later if I find out it did.

How unexpected…

This cell phone lies next to me, dormant for who knows how long, and right as I’m about to give up hope it rings. And what an unexpected caller! No time to second guess or ask questions, only to get ready to go and meet that which this day has apprently planned for me.

It all drags on…

Some things change, others stay the same. Our measure in life is how we adapt. I will adapt, this is not the end. Of course it isn’t, only a slight misstep which is easily corrected. Thanksgiving brought turmoil and tension to my family, as is to be expected, but I probably didn’t help the situation when I told my aunt that her cat ought to be put to sleep. That may sound unreasonable, but if you knew the cat you wouldn’t think so. Trust me.

Ryan finally got his drums today, which is very big. It means that we will finally be able to actually put a beat to our music, maybe even make it presentable. As soon as anything big happens with it, you’ll be able to read about it hear, so keep your eyes open!

What to do for the remainder of the day? No clue, but I think it will be fun. Very fun.

At Last…

Two solid days of rest lie ahead of me. Work the last two days has been Hell, but it’s my own fault for staying up so late every night. I feel like I have to lately, though. I’m having all kinds of creative and productive thoughts and I’m finally starting to get really interested in meeting people and being sociable again. The last few months have been emotionally bumpy for several reasons, not the least of which is the amount of stress that work throws into the whole equation. It’s ok though. Monday and Tuesday are mine. Ryan and I started recording some music last night in the hopes of polishing it up and somewhere down the line forming a band. I’m sick of being tired and alone, and through music maybe I can wake myself up and see all the people around me.

Oh and in Retrospect, my review of Resistance 2 (PS3) should be up shortly.

Um…

Wow. And whoa. Just…geez.

Slow

No work today, no chores, no nothing. A very slow day, to be sure. Now I have to drive all the way up to work at nine for a two hour meeting. I have felt nothing but sloth today.

Big Night Last Night

As many of you may already know, last night was a big night. Something that only happens about once every four years or so, a truly momentous event. I’m talking of course about the Metallica concert in Denver that I had to miss because of work. That sucked hard. Oh well. I’ll hold myself over with a few good shows coming to town in the next few months. Oh and I think some guy won some kind of race? Congrats to him, I hope he gets a cool ribbon.

New updates all around! Under Lock & Key is the new Metallica album, Death Magnetic. Leave me a comment letting me know if you need the password. Hope to add All That Remains’ new effort soon as well, from what I’ve heard it promises to be a solid installment.

New to the site as well is the Retrospect page, which essentially consists of my reviews of various pop culture items I happen to run across. Movies, music, games, that sort of thing. Also hoping to add a new header image later tonight.

In life news, I have to work tomorrow before I find some kind of Halloween festivities to attend, and then I have to work at seven on Saturday morning, but I’ve used my two days off to sufficiently jack my sleep schedule to a point where one night of partying followed immediately by work should be easily remedied with a solid three or four hour nap. Hopefully I’ll have Halloween photos to post. Bring on the skimpy costumes.

Still Going

Up all night the other (Tuesday) night for various reasons, woke up very late today (yesterday, Wednesday) and I’m still up right now, which is of course very early on Thursday morning. The reason I’m posting right now? Needed a break from games and also wanted to introduce the ‘Today’s Mood’ feature on the right-hand side of the page. Also removed one of the images from the sidebar, replaced it with a list of a few of the songs from my current workday playlist, to be updated periodically of course. Going to try to fix the sleep schedule. And cram more games in on this day off. Extensive updates expected later today.
